Overview
Rumie is looking for an intern to join our team for a 3 to 4-month term in Toronto. The position is very flexible, which will allow you to get the experience you want out of the role.
As an intern you’ll get to work in various areas of the organization, including:
- Marketing and PR
- Fundraising
- Community outreach
- Research
- Project management
- Tablet deployments
Qualifications:
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good at time management and prioritizing
- Eager to learn
- Passionate about Rumie’s mission
We’re looking for a university student or recent graduate to join us for a 3-month term. Hours are flexible but we expect 25 hours a week at least 2-3 days per week. Please only apply if you are located in Toronto or the GTA.
This is an unpaid internship, but it’s an exceptional opportunity to gain experience at a tech start-up with a social mission and non-profit status. If applicable we will work with your school to give you academic credit for your experience.

The Rumie Initiative is a non-profit tech startup with a social mission: to make education cheaper, better and faster for communities around the world. Named the World’s Best Social Startup in 2014, Rumie delivers open-source educational content to those who need it by collecting and organizing free educational content on its web platform, the LearnCloud, and delivering curated libraries of content to offline communities on $50 tablets. Tablets monitor usage and are implemented in the field by strong local partners. Rumie Tablets are currently being used in nine countries with plans underway in seven more. Harvard Business School is currently writing a case study on Rumie.
