Do you want to see your code on millions of devices? Do you get a kick when your friends are actually running your software? Skyhook’s Senior Mobile Engineer writes software for the next generation of mobile location and context SDKs.
The Senior Mobile Engineer is a key contributor to the architecture, design and development of new product features and enhancements like geofences and persona development. Skyhook’s Senior Mobile Engineer must embrace challenges like protecting privacy, optimizing power consumption and utilizing bandwidth efficiently while writing code for millions of mobile devices. You will be working on the SDKs that generate billions of user requests per month and terabytes of data.
We look for the following in our Senior Mobile Engineers:
Solid understanding of software development principles and design patterns and a strong knowledge of programming languages.
Ability to create new software designs and evolve existing designs to meet customer requirements and deliver products and solutions effectively.
Experience with mobile development, especially Android and iOS.
Strong understanding and experience in OS areas such as file system, networking, and security.
Ready to collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to prototype new ideas and define features, feasibility and effort to bring to market.
Key contributor to our process and team culture, continually iterating on how we build product, not just what we build.

Senior Mobile Engineer Qualifications:
● BS in CS or related field
● Demonstrated expertise in C++, Java, or Objective-C development, including 5+ years experience.
● Good communication skills
● Strong problem-solving skills
● Experienced with cross-platform design and development
Preferred:
● Experience with multi-threaded development
● Experience consuming RESTful APIs
● Experience with sqlite or other SQL database
● Experience working with an offshore development team
● Familiarity with geospatial concepts and technologies a plus
● Experience with at least one scripting language
