Position Overview

Polaris is seeking a full-time Talent Manager to join our growing HR team. We are seeking someone who thrives in a high-energy environment, who leverages technology to increase efficiency, and who is a self-starter. This position reports to the HR Director.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced recruiter to take his/her career to the next level. The Talent Manager will be responsible for attracting new, and developing existing talent. In addition, the Manager will have exposure to senior leadership, a direct impact on the significant growth of our firm, and significant input into the strategy and processes used for acquiring and engaging top talent.

General Responsibilities

Acquiring New Talent 

  • Strategically identify and engage top talent for joining the Polaris team, across all of our locations in the US and Europe.
  • Manage our 3-step interview process, to ensure the best and the brightest.
  • Identify “out of the box” recruiting strategies, for sourcing specific talent based on our current needs
  • Leverage research, social media, networking, and other creative means to uncover passive talent
  • Manage employee referral program
  • Manage campus recruiting program
  • Screen and qualify prospective candidates against defined requirements, converting qualified leads into hires

Track recruiting metrics, for continual review and enhancement

Developing Existing Talent

  • Manage performance management and training programs
    • Optimize semi-annual performance review process
    • Optimize training programs, leveraging internal and external resources
  • Work with team to foster company culture and fun atmosphere throughout the office to:
    • Coordinate team building programs
    • New hire welcome events
    • Celebrate company successes
    • Coach managers on retention and employee development programs
    • Work with the leadership team, to provide unique suggestions for retaining key employee

  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, and other social media sites for recruiting
  • Demonstrated ability to identify talent using social and professional media

Communication and Organization:

  • Oral communication–speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations
  • Written communication–edit work for spelling and grammar, present numerical data effectively, read and interpret written information
  • Planning/organizing–prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently
  • Quality control–demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, and monitor own work to ensure quality

Experience: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in a related recruiting role
  • Experience recruiting in technology and consulting environments strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Physical and Location Requirements 

  • Monday through Friday in downtown NYC office
  • Upon offer candidate must be able to pass background and drug test
