Front End Developer – DealTap Inc

The real estate industry is about to make a big shift to digital transactions and that’s why we need you! We are a small technology company that is evolving and growing with a great atmosphere and a desire to develop strong multi-tiered solutions. We are looking to add a strong Front End Developer to our team.  The perfect candidate is a strong communicator, is open to learning new technologies, prides themselves on a job well done and wants to join a team that is growing and always changing.  The role will offer the ability to work on both from scratch and off the shelf products as well as working on exciting in house products that are responsive in design.

Role Mandate:

• • Develop web pages in a manner that outshines our competitors, based on approved designs provided by our Creative Team 
• • Research & evaluate new technologies/services that can improve our websites’ performance or user experiences 

Responsibilities:

• • Maintain existing websites via maintenance as well as enhancements   
• • Provide accurate timing estimates for work
• • Communicate clearly with management and team 
• • Flag any risks or concerns with projects and project plans
• • Contribute to documentation (instructions, technical specifications, etc.)
• • Work with other non-technical staff (designers, management)
• • Discuss technical solutions and contribute to technical problem solving 
• • Maintain high awareness of industry issues and trends (particularly with usability, emerging technologies, etc with a desire to incorporate these in future projects)
• • Constantly seeking to develop yourself and your soft and technical skills

Skills:

 

• • Excellent HTML, XHTML, CSS programming skills
• • Ability to develop responsive web applications and websites 
• • Coding valid XHTML and CSS mark-up 
• • Developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions 
• • Exceptional JavaScript programming skills (and experience in AJAX techniques) 
• • Strong experience with JavaScript and CSS libraries and frameworks such as jQuery/jQuery Mobile and Bootstrap
• • Knowledge of working with JavaScript frameworks to create rich interactive content 
• • Experience in front-end MVC frameworks/libraries such as AngularJS, Backbone
• • Experience integrating with server-side code to produce dynamic pages 
• • Excitement about emerging web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3 
• • Good understanding of Web Accessibility 
• • Experience building sites to at least an AA standard
• • Experience working with version control systems such as Git 
• • Experience working with project management tools such as Basecamp and JIRA
• • Knowledge of HTML Email best practice desirable
• • Flash Development knowledge desirable 
• • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
• • Experience with common back-end frameworks (eg Laravel, Symfony or others).
• • Sass or Less a plus
