Overview

What you will be doing:

• Hands-on coding in PHP, specifically strong OOP methodologies and projects on Drupal
• Analyze and estimate new project requests, develop technical specifications and recommend approaches
• Must be able to work independently, make quick and informed decisions, and keep things moving
• Process deliveries from internal and external developers, help stage and deploy new releases
• Research, vet and recommend new technologies and approaches to development

Skills + Experience Required:

• Expert knowledge of hosting, UNIX, scripting, and LAMP-focused server-side technologies
• Expert knowledge of PHP, JavaScript,  Git, AJAX, SOAP, REST, etc.
• Strong database skills in MySQL and MongoDB
• Strong caching skills in Memcache and Redis
• Full-stack understanding of Apache, Nginx, Amazon Web Services, shell scripting, etc.
• Experience with Vagrant, Chef, etc. a huge plus
• Deep understanding of platform philosophies, CMSes and frameworks, and the “build vs. buy” mentality
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, specifically agile methodologies
• Very good analytical skills, should be able to identify problems quickly and find optimum solutions fast
• Great communication skills, good at teamwork, fast decision maker
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills

Bonus Experience:

• Must be able to work in high-scale, with proven ability to manage non-trivial web infrastructures
• Prior experience in marketing and SaaS platforms a plus
