Sr DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design, setup, management and maintenance of Ayasdi’s mission critical Hybrid Cloud infrastructure.
This position is the go-to-individual for resolving complex customer issues that involve being resourceful, creative problem-solving and the ability to identify the source of problems.
The individual in this position will be instrumental in developing SaaS operations standard operating procedures and processes, including change control, disaster recovery, incident management, structuring a blueprint for replicating and administering new data centers.
Work collaboratively with engineering and product in new system design, process improvement, and resolving complex technical problems
Perform operational support tasks as required to maintain infrastructure uptime
Improve and automate system administration, maintenance, monitoring and software deployment tasks
Troubleshooting and resolution of Data Center infrastructure problems
Develop predictable capacity planning
Perform fault studies and reliability analysis for mission critical systems
Plan, coordinate and manage installation and preventive maintenance activities
Recognize and identify work that needs to be performed with a sense of urgency and ownership for improving the overall environment.
Update and maintain Data Center processes, change management, daily operations, outage and emergency processes.
Desired Skills & Experience:
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Ability to code and script using various open source technologies
Ability to crack tough technical problems quickly with creative solutions
Ability to work well with customers and in a cross-team environment; customer and team focused.
A high-energy individual with sound judgment who is sensitive to the needs of a small and rapidly growing company.
Meaningful, recent experience with most of the following is required:
Scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)
Deployment, automation and configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Docker)
Monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia)
Virtualization technologies (VMWare, Xen, KVM)
Cloud computing (AWS, Rackspace, GoGrid)
Large-scale distributed computing infrasture (Hadoop, Spark)
Data center networking and storage infrastructure
Ability to travel up to 20% in the field as necessary
