Overview

WHAT YOU’LL DO:             

  • Design and architect components with focus on performance and scalability of services and underlying data stores
  • Ensure high availability of the platform through systems and infrastructure engineering
  • Buddy up with the data team to ensure delivery guarantees and methods are groovy
  • Help improve applications automation and monitoring throughout the system
  • Write clean, portable, and well-documented code

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • 3-4+ years experience coding in PHP and one or more of: Python, Go, Java
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Storm
  • Understanding and experience of modern data stores (Distributed/NoSQL etc),. Appreciation of the strengths and weaknesses of different solutions.
  • Experience with queuing patterns and pipeline design
  • Practical experience with machine learning and information retrieval is a plus
  • Excellent understanding of IO issues, disk and network
  • Good working knowledge of monitoring tools
  • Comfortable working with DevOps cloud tools (Amazon, EC2, or Google Cloud)
  • Well-versed in object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
