SparkGig is a fast-paced startup based in Kitchener-Waterloo, active in Toronto and New York, building a new way for performers and event planners to connect online.
We are a fun, highly motivated and dynamic team working towards a better future in the exciting live entertainment industry. We recently raised our seed round and we’re looking to accelerate our growth in these cities, and to expand the team and accelerate our growth to the rest of North America in the coming year.
We are looking for a hard-core, roll-up your sleeves, entrepreneur-minded individual to work alongside with us. You will have the opportunity to work on every aspect of growing a startup, next to the CEO.
The ideal person
You have knowledge of the event and entertainment industry
You have an excellent commande of the English language, both written and spoken
You have experience in writing product content and copy-editing for mobile/web products, copywriting, and/or marketing
You are passionate about startups and the startup community
You like taking ownership of projects end-to-end
You are ambitious, energetic, and love to learn and challenge yourself
You are capable of accomplishing tasks independently and remotely
You have a portfolio of writing samples (please include in your application)
What you’ll be doing
Create content for our SparkGig Blog to reach out to performers and event host. Be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.
Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person. This is to be done for each buyer persona within the enterprise.
The development of a functional content calendar throughout the enterprise verticals, and defining the owners in each vertical to particular persona groups.
