Job Description: Researcher, Market Trends
As SocialCode’s Researcher of Market Trends on the marketing team, you will analyze one of the world’s largest databases of social advertising and consumer behavior to surface foundational insights that make Fortune 500 brands successful. You must have a passion for identifying and answering questions that help us build industry thought leadership and better understand social advertising and consumer trends. In addition to working closely with SocialCode’s researchers and advertising analysts, you will work closely with social platform partners and clients on marquee research projects.
If you enjoy working with cutting-edge data to reveal profound market insights in creative ways, this role is for you. This position is full-time and based in New York, though we are open to star candidates in Washington, DC and San Francisco. The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Marketing.
Responsibilities:

Work closely with marketing, innovation and client teams to identify and answer important market questions

Answer market questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on multiple data sources

Communicate findings for internal business stakeholders, through research reports and presentations
-
Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources

Analyze and interpret the results of experiments
-
Develop best practices for instrumentation and experimentation and communicate
Requirements:
-
B.S. degree in quantitative discipline (recent M.S or PhD a plus)

Experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
-
Comfort working with APIs, databases and manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data

A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
-
A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision
-
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, actionable manner
-
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
-
Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Matlab, or SAS
-
Programming experience with a scripting language such as Python or Ruby
