Overview

The Senior Associate Accountant plays a key, hands-on role reporting directly to the Director of Finance to help perform financial planning, analysis and reporting in a timely and accurately manner. This is a highly visible role requiring sharp accounting skills and business sense.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a top university
• 2 to 3 years related work experience, preferably in public accounting

Essential Criteria

• Highly organized and motivated self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills
• Detail oriented with strong analytic and problem solving skills
• Excellent Excel skills
• Strong technical accounting skills (knowledge of US GAAP) and proficiency with researching accounting literature
• Ability to identify trends and key issues, understand the implications and communicate concisely

General Responsibilities

• Work in the preparation of financial reports and analysis that comprise regulatory reporting and SEC public reporting
• Prepare and record journal entries (pre-paid, accruals, deferred rent, etc.) by compiling and analyzing account information
• Receive and verify all vendor invoices/requisitions for goods and services while maintaining the accounts payable aging
• Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly P&L and cash flow reports, including variance analysis
• Work closely with external auditors during the quarterly reviews and year-end audits
• Prepare a variety of routine and ad hoc financial reports for management and other internal departments
• Assist with the review of complex accounting issues and transactions for proper U.S. GAAP treatment on an as-needed basis
