Overview

Skyhook’s QA Engineer tests our SDKs that are deployed on millions of devices. Skyhook’s scalable clusters handle billions of user requests per month and process terabytes of data on a regular basis, so our QA Engineer must be able to test at scale and ensure that our APIs can withstand millions of location requests per hour. 

The QA Engineer is responsible for planning, scoping, and executing tests of new and existing features across multiple projects. Testing will include design review, API testing, functional validation, error handling, and performance testing, as well as automating tests when it is appropriate.

 

We look for the following in our QA Engineers: 

Ability to communicate effectively with developers for the purposes of understanding design goals as well as providing appropriate feedback in the form of bug reports.

Self-motivated team player who thrives in an intellectually vibrant environment and loves researching new technologies. 

Excellent understanding of risk with the ability to provide appropriate feedback regarding bug priorities.

Proven ability to meet deadlines. You know how to break complex projects and tasks down to manageable subfeatures.

Experience writing code in C/C++ and Java to create tests for our SDKs. 

 

QA Engineer Qualifications:

● 2+ years of experience testing client-server software.

● Strong analytical skills

● Able to code in C/C++ and Java

● Able to write scripts capable of text processing (such as Python or Perl)

● A solid understanding of SQL, and the ability to write complex queries

● Working knowledge of a variety of operating systems, and the ability to pick up new ones

Preferred:

● Experience in mobile

● Tomcat experience

● Experience with large scale server environments

● Bachelor’s degree preferred
