Construcs is an image-sharing network for design professionals and their clients. Our web tools and mobile app enable secure sharing and discussions around project images, building meaningful connections between people, companies and their shared projects. Our market is architects, designers, engineers, realtors, manufacturers, fabricators, contractors, and owners. It is a trillion dollar industry in the US alone and is ripe for change.

Construcs’ founders are seasoned professionals with both Internet technology and construction related expertise. Our early customers and investors include architects, contractors, interior designers, engineers, and home control system installers.

We develop in leading-edge technologies and believe in agile development. Our software stack is MySQL, Redis/Elasticache, Solr/Lucene/CloudSearch, node.js, Ruby on Rails, web sockets, nginx, HTML5, Angular.js, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac. Our deployment environment is Amazon: Opsware/Chef controlling EC2 with Linux virtual machines and related services and S3.

What you will do

• Build and own critical parts of our service.
• Hard-core coding and software design and architecture
• Work closely with our CTO and the rest of our development team

This position will give you a lot of freedom to design and code to your own high standard, and to grow your software career at our company as we take off.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a smart adaptable engineer to join our small, but talented, team. We care more about the right team fit, passion for our mission, and desire to code, than a particular number of years of experience. So, if you meet the following, please apply.

• Extensive web or mobile back end application development experience. Ruby On Rails, node.js would be a plus.
• Good knowledge of databases of all kinds. MySQL, NoSQL would be a plus.
• Strong architecture, software design, and development skills.
• Full software life-cycle development – from design through testing in an agile, test-focused environment.
• Experience of building and supporting scalable, high-quality web applications with open source technologies.
• A strong desire to write robust tested code.
• Good at solving problems and thinking creatively.
