Our engineering team works on challenging product-oriented problems across the boundaries of e-commerce, mobile, analytics and shipping/fulfillment, and the backbone of our business is served by our custom logistics management system which is core to our capacity to deliver the right product to the right user at the right time. We utilize data, engineering and algorithms to create a personalized website and an adaptive supply chain to fulfill our commitment to an amazing customer experience.

About the Role:

Rent the Runway is looking for a Director of Technology Operations to help build out our growing Operations team. The Tech Operations team currently covers a wide area of responsibilities including infrastructure, monitoring, integrating a DevOps culture, network/NOC management, database management, automation, process building and vendor relations.

The ideal candidate for this role should have experience working with large infrastructures and understand continuous development practices. Experience team building and juggling multiple tasks concurrently are a must. The candidate should be comfortable in a mixed stack environment encompassing Ruby, Java, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis and RabbitMQ

 

Responsibilities: 

 Strong understanding of network and application routing

 Familiar with CentOS/RHEL

 Experience with automation (Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack etc)

 Comfortable managing large budgets and forecasting future spend

 Team building and management including recruiting, mentoring and training

 Maintain and evolve processes involving on call, incident management, PCI Compliance and more

 Build a DevOps culture and practice integrating operations with engineering

 Understand and implement monitoring best practices

 Provide technical leadership and vision

 Able to scale up a rapidly growing infrastructure in a cost-sustainable way
