POSITION TYPE: ASSISTANT DESIGNER 
LOCATION: CENTRAL NJ / SOHO, NEW YORK, NY

Profound Aesthetic has an immediate opening for an Assistant Designer that will help the Creative Director by participating in all phases of the design development process from initial concept to production. This is a part-time position that can very quickly grow into a full time career for the right candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The ideal candidate is extremely creative and has:
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe CS5 (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Experience with Tech Packs 
• Strong grasp of typography
• Commercial awareness and knowledge of the current menswear clothing market (streetwear knowledge is a plus)
• A good understanding of garment construction and costing
• Good negotiation skills for working with customers and suppliers overseas 
• Detail-oriented, strong attention to detail 
• Good time-management skills
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work well on your own, and in a team
• Self motivated, self starter

Education/Experience:
• BA or BS in Fashion Design related fields, received from a design oriented university preferred but not required
• 2+ years of design experience
