SALES EXECUTIVE / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Summary

Magency, leading event and training technology company with offices in New York, Paris and Tokyo is looking for an experienced sales executive to join its sales team in the New York office.

About Magency Digital:

Magency Digital is a startup of 40 people (with 5 team members in the NY office), created in 2011 by a team of magicians and developers, which creates mobile apps to make corporate events, conferences and trainings more fun and interactive. Magency’s apps have been used by more than 200,000 attendees, during more than 400 events in 3 years, in 25 languages and in more than 20 countries. Inspired by magic and driven by technology, Magency builds completely customized applications to immerse the audience in the live experience during corporate events and training. For events, clients see out of this world Return on Engagement numbers, as attendees use the app to network with one another, ask questions to the speakers, vote, and brainstorm on content. For training, the application is used to enhance the relationship between the trainer and the trainee. As the trainer brings the content to life, the trainee remains attentive- digesting, validating, and retaining material. For entertainment, we perform magic on tablets.

Who you are:

You love to solve problems and have a “work-finder” mindset. Rather than waiting to be told what to do you actively search for what needs to be done and executive efficiently. You prefer video chat to email and see the value in social sales over cold calling. You are a super connector and enjoy introducing people that would benefit from knowing each other. If you read something interesting, you want to share it with your team and are open to other peoples ideas as well. You are naturally skilled at breaking down complex ideas into something simple and compelling. You aren’t overwhelmed by the idea of your sales pitch constantly changing and improving – in fact, you want to help make it better. You crave constant feedback and like to give it. You build strong bonds with others and you are good at making people feel comfortable. You are intrigued by how companies function internally and why engaging training is key to a business’ success.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive, mentor  and motivate Magency’s US sales team (2 salespeople) – answer technical/procedural questions, teach improved processes, monitor team’s progress
  • Keep eye out for possible improvements and make recommendations for product, service, and procedure enhancements.
  • Adjust and enhance content of existing sales materials; take lead in creating new sales materials
  • Implement a closing business strategy and ask the hard questions
  • Make in-person visits to demo product to potential customers
  • Uncover prospective new business through: networking, attending trade shows and events, referrals, and website inquiries.
  • Follow Magency’s sales process by researching potential new clients, then persistently and creatively reach out to book in person demos that result in proposal and price quote requests
  • Stay on top of sales activity and reports – continually updating CRM, daily reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Resolve any customer complaints by investigating problem, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Perform competitive analysis with a thorough understanding of current marketplace – pricing, products, new products, etc.
  • Continue to serve and resign existing accounts by building strong relationships with customers to ensure their success with the product

What’s required:

Must-have:

  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience
  • Energy and passion to help grow a dynamic technology company
  • Proven, off-the-charts sales ability
  • Experience in training or selling to trainers
  • A college degree
  • CRM Expertise

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in Tech, Consulting, Change Management and/or Customer Success would be helpful
  • Knowledge of training and events
  • Speak another/several language(s) or the desire to learn
  • Experience working with a small team
