Luminoso Technologies, Inc., located in Cambridge, MA, is a small, friendly, and rapidly growing text analytics software company with a ground floor opportunity to put your mark on our next generation of products!  You will work closely with product management and development to create a delightful & meaningful user experience for our customers.

 You should have a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, excellent visual design skills, great technical know-how, as well as demonstrated experience with interaction design for the enterprise. Most importantly, we are looking for a designer who will be able to understand how the users, our customers, will want to instinctively interact with the UI, and provide them with the ability to perform their tasks intuitively.

Candidates must provide a portfolio that demonstrates superior UX skills along with your process and thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Create innovative interaction designs through explorations, user flows, wireframes, and behavior specifications;

·       Engage with development to understand platform capabilities, communicate designs, support agile development, and verify design implementations; 

·       Work with product teams to understand user and business needs;

·       Interface with customers to ensure their needs are prioritized and quality continuously improved;

·       Create design specifications to the understanding of engineers, and adapt designs to emerging engineering constraints;

·       Run ad-hoc usability tests with customer/end users when needed. 

Required Skills and Experience:

•  2-4 years of applicable work experience;

• Proven experience defining, developing, and documenting UX design and interaction  

  requirements/specifications; 

• Strong interaction design skills: wireframing and prototyping;

• Expertise in relevant technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript or Coffeescript;

• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology;

• Must be self-directed, confident and able to work in a fast-paced environment;

• Excellent communication, both written and spoken English, with both technical and not- 

  so-technical people. Ability to explain why a design works or why it doesn’t;

• An end-user advocate, driving user needs and goals into both creative and pragmatic
