Overview
As a member of the iOS team, you’ll create beautiful, value-focused experiences for two very important groups of people: our customers and valets. We are a small team, so you’ll be owning a large portion of the code base and helping to solve engineering problems in a dynamic, real-time environment. You’ll keep the quality bar very high by being organized, detailed and writing a healthy amount of tests as well as helping peer review others. You will excel at getting things done on a deadline all while being a pleasure to work with across multiple disciplines and teams. Humility is central to our company, so you’ll excel at delivering balanced, thoughtful, and respectful opinions to the team for how things should be done “the right way” long-term. You are analytical, creative, adaptive, entrepreneurial and ready to dive in!
What you’ll be doing:
- Solve interesting engineering challenges and problems as we grow; we are a small team, so you’ll own and write code for a significant portion of the app
- Ship new features, squash bugs, and constantly improve the maintainability of our code base
- Turn ideas and designs into well-tested, modular architectures that are easily re-used
- Work with designers, engineers, program managers and other disciplines to hit deadlines while maintaining a high quality product
- Refactor as you go and help peer review others to always improve the code base
- Write tests to cover critical business areas and UI flows
- Create delightful UI and UX for our customers and valets, diving into animations where necessary
- Communicate product and process needs back to relevant teams and work closely with those teams to execute on them
You have:
- 4+ years building apps for iOS (Objective-C and Swift), with a strong knowledge of Apple frameworks and relevant design patterns
- CS degree or equivalent work experience (strong focus on practical experience versus theoretical knowledge)
- Meticulously detailed and organized, with quality at all levels from code to UI implementation
- Entrepreneurial; ability to own outcomes and make things happen
- Data driven, yet creative decision maker
- Works well cross-functionally across all teams
Would be great if you have:
- Open-sourced your own libraries / UI components / apps or contributed to other OS projects
- Launched your own apps or companies before or have been a part of a startup
- Dabbled with design, animations, games, or other heavy UX/UI
- Experience recruiting, building, and leading teams
- You have a long-term view of the world and working at companies
