Overview
The VP of Finance and Administration will report to the President and provide leadership and coordination of all financial, human relations, and administrative functions for the company.
Responsibilities:
› Direct, coordinate, and execute financial planning and analysis
› Define internal processes and procedures for forecasting, budgeting, and spending approval
› Lead the negotiation and closure of venture capital, strategic capital, and debt financings
› Conduct analyses to inform strategic planning processes within the company, and to inform contract negotiations, product investment, and other decisions
› Support business development and other functional teams in the final negotiation of major company contracts. Be the key management liaison to outside legal counsel.
› Working with the Director of Finance, manage all financial and management accounting including revenue recognition, budget management and reporting, tax planning, administrative policies, expense management, audits, and ensuring company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles
› Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
› Design and implement non-dilutive financial vehicles for funding content production (e.g., “slate financing vehicles” and “production funds”)
› Lead all human relations, IT, and administrative functions within the company
Essential Requirements:
› Experience in a B2C Internet/digital business
› Experience in Finance management functions within a successful venture/growth company
Additional Desired Requirements:
› MBA and/or CPA
› Experience with contemporary Media business models, including knowledge of benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance.
› Experience in closing financings, including negotiating business terms of stock purchase, debt, and commercial contractual agreements in venture/growth stage companies.
› Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
› Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
› Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
› Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
› Can-do attitude and sense of humor are a must
