Overview
The Position:
Make your mark on interactive video while working with top names in music and entertainment Interlude is looking for a Sr. Marketing Manager, Content, to lead the positioning and distribution strategy for Interlude’s upcoming entertainment pipeline, including music videos and original shows. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the millennial audience and an exceptional sensibility for music and pop-culture trends. You are extremely proactive and capable of participating in the development of Interlude’s content and marketing strategy.
Responsibilities:
Content strategy
› Partner with the creative team during development to ensure our videos stay on brand and become our #1 marketing tool; when needed, suggest adjustments that can increase a project’s marketability
› Conduct research to understand if our target audience will respond to a specific format, personality, or content partnership
› Define ideal release schedule and messaging strategy to best position every piece of content for a mass audience upon release.
Promotion:
› Brainstorm story ideas and pitches to help securing regular online coverage for our video releases, independently and in tandem with an external PR team
› Come up with creative ideas to promote Interlude’s interactive videos amongst our target audience, including co-marketing with artists/labels, influencers campaigns, ideas for viral campaigns and more
› When appropriate, suggest and help executing paid media campaigns to increase views of our videos across social media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter) and Google Search
› Commission the creation of platform-specific assets to production, including stills, animated gifs and video teasers.
Copywriting:
› Define a tone and be the company voice in promoting the content to consumers
› Write exceptionally compelling marketing copy and headlines for all our releases to maximize engagement
› Create an editorial calendar and populate company O&O channels on a regular basis, (social accounts, blog posts, internal and external newsletters…).
Qualifications:
› 3-5 years of experience working in a similar role at a young media company (Pitchfork, Vice, Complex, Mic., Vox Media, Gawker, Mashable, The Onion etc…)
› Excellent judgment and strong media instincts
› Top-notch writing skills, ideally you have previous experience as an editor/journalist
› Expert user (or at least astute observer) of Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest and most major social media platforms
› Hands-on experience with key analytics tools such as GA, Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights
› Solid network of contacts within the creators’ community, online outlets and communities a HUGE bonus
› Previous experience marketing mobile products highly desired.
