Overview
Grammarly is seeking a Controller. This position will report to the CEO and will direct all corporate accounting, finance and back office functions, including general accounting, internal procedures and controls, reporting and analytics, external audits, taxes, and contract negotiations. This role is based in our San Francisco office.
What you will do:

Oversee day-to-day accounting and reporting activities.

Prepare and publish monthly financial statements and management reports.

Prepare the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures, and analyze and report variances.

Lead the month-end and year-end close, and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.

Act as a business partner across the entire organization, ensuring the accurate and timely collection and distribution of all mission-critical reporting.

Document and improve company business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Assist in the negotiation and management of customer and partner contracts.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a CPA license.

Minimum 7+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, including ‘Big Four’ public accounting experience with at least 2 years in a company.

Advanced Excel, business modeling, and ad-hoc analyses skills.

Substantial knowledge of US GAAP and software revenue recognition.

Experience maintaining an ERP system and driving project management in accounting.

Strong supervisory/management experience with proven ability to develop and mentor a high-performing team.

Progressive experience in dynamic, high-growth software companies a plus.
