Sr. Database Administrator, Developer & Project Manager
About the opportunity
Emmi Solutions is looking for a hands-on Senior Database Administrator, Developer & Project Manager to provide technical and project leadership to the Emmi database team. This position requires an individual who is organized, detail oriented, nimble and focused on building systems the right way from the start. The ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of leading and contributing to on-time, successful projects.
Responsibilities

• Planning and tracking database projects, holding team accountable to deadlines and for quality
• Working cross-functionally to determine feasibility, level of effort, timing, scheduling and other aspects of project planning
• Contributing to all aspects of the database subsystem including database administration, modeling & design, development, query optimization, performance tuning, scalability, and high availability
• Participating with the technology team in all activities including architecture, analysis, development, quality assurance, and deployment
• Establishing performance benchmarks and leading activities related to performance improvement
• Authoring database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions
• Maintaining and enforcing data standards
• Managing security and controlling access permissions and privileges
• Maintaining the database systems in multiple environments including installation, configuration, backup, recovery and high availability
• Assisting with vendor relationship and DB contractor management

These skills/experiences are a must

• 7+ years of RDBMS experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• 2+ years of experience managing and leading projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server technology stack (Database Engine, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
• Knowledge of data modeling and tools (relational design, normalization, referential integrity, entity relationship modeling) for web-enabled OLTP
• Knowledge of OLAP systems and dimensional design concepts (Data Warehouse/BI/Analysis Services)
• Experience building and scaling databases for web-based SaaS applications
• Experience with security and data encryption
• Ability and desire to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to analyze business requirements and architect a database solution
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

While not required, you can further impress us by having the following skills or experience

• Experience with Business Intelligence/Visualization tools such as Tableau
• Healthcare domain and technology experience
• Experience in highly-regulated industries
