Our Product organization strives to build the most compelling and intuitive experiences for our customers. We are a team of self-starters who are inspired by our users, and we are seeking a Director of Interaction and Web Design to help scale and build our team.

As the Director of our Interaction and Web Design team, you will be leading a talented group of interaction designers, web designers and user research interns. Candidates should possess a passion for great design, a strong aesthetic sensibility, and the ability to design simple solutions to complex problems. You should also be able to manage projects as well as people.

As a member of our leadership team, you will partner with various members of our Product Management organization along with other departments to build the most compelling product experiences. Candidates must be creative problem solvers, innovative designers, and passionate user advocates. You must also thrive in a fast-paced, team-based, and results-focused environment.

Job Requirements

• Manage and mentor a team of talented interaction designers (including user interface and visual) and user researchers.
• Develop design processes that will help the team scale and produce well-considered designs.
• Contribute significantly to strategic design initiatives, from defining our style guidelines, mobile design strategy to site architecture for consumer seller facing experiences.
• Work with team to produce our user experience strategy and develop next generation concepts.
• Partner with a wide range of stakeholders from concept to creation, including product managers, marketing, user research, developers, and testing.
• Comfortable in an agile environment of rapid iteration and experimentation, prototyping at various levels of fidelity.
• Possess strong verbal, written and visual presentation skills with a deep understanding of the value in storytelling.
• Have command of various applications related to prototyping and user interface design (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, etc).
• Well versed in collaborative design techniques, rapid prototyping, UI design, UI patterns, time-based visual design and information architecture.
• Aware of current trends in design patterns, information visualization and current web technologies such as HTML 5, CSS3, Javascript, gestural UI, animation, etc.
• At least 7+ years of experience designing consumer facing web applications
• 3+ years of managing/mentoring junior designers
