Overview

If you are reading this job description, you probably have an idea of what Analytics jobs are like. Statistics are always involved. You often hear expressions such as “key performance indicators” and “regression models”. This job is a little different from that. Because while it does involve some of the standard trappings of analytics employment, it also involves cool, smart people who use technology to do cool, smart things that enable people to be creative and share their creations with the world (or with just their friends).

SO IF YOU ARE IN TO THAT, HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead the A/B testing and optimization initiatives across the company and help guide the testing roadmap
  • Champion a testing culture that rapidly tests, measures and iterates
  • Collaborate with Product, Business & Engineering to gather requirements, implement testing and communicate findings
  • Use analytics to generate strong testable hypotheses, as it relates to customer acquisition / retention, user experience, and product releases
  • Ensure the quality of experiments and test results
  • Work closely with Engineering on the continued build-out of homegrown and / or third-party testing solutions / capabilities
  • Communicate and present test results and insights to all levels of the company, clearly and concisely
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Analyst to ensure continued success

AND HERE IS WHAT WE ASK THAT YOU HAVE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in leading Analytics/Testing/Experimentation program
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, statistics, mathematics or another quantitative discipline required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Must have solid experience in hypothesis generation, experiment design, identification of KPIs, and statistical analysis of experiment results (frequentist, sequential, Bayesian hypothesis testing)
  • Bonus points for experience building and implementing statistical or data mining models, including regression, clustering, decision trees, text mining, and similar methods
  • Proven ability to self motivate, work independently and produce tangible results with limited direction
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with coding languages, such as SQL, Python, and at least one of the following statistical packages (SAS, R, SPSS, Stata)
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Localytics, Optimizely, Vertica or Tableau a plus
