ExpertFile, a leading provider of enterprise marketing software used by organizations to manage their experts and thought leaders, is seeking a Business Development Associate. Marketing departments and agencies use our butt based platform to publish, promote and measure the performance of their expert content to engage a range of audiences such as customer prospects, media and conference organizers. Clients include Constant Contact, the State University of New York (SUNY), Pearson Education, University Health Network (UHN), ADP, and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT).
What you will do
New Business Development
- Generate a consistent number of leads on a weekly basis to to fuel ExpertFile customer growth
- Follow up on marketing campaigns and Trade Shows to secure prospect meeting opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, contacting, nurturing and closing deals with the appropriate decision maker
- Achieve and surpass monthly and quarterly goals by maintaining a high level of activity
- Work closely with the Director of Business Development to develop best practices for the sales and training teams
Planning and Execution
- Handle multiple accounts at different stages of the sales cycle and effectively move them through the process
- Maintain prospect and customer information in Salesforce.com
- Create, prepare and present information to prospects and customers. Present our solution through a variety of tools including demos to prospects
- Prepare and deliver proposals to prospects and work with the client through to close
- Prepare and update sales forecasts on a weekly / monthly basis
- Contribute to the development of plans for sales and customer acquisition
- Provide feedback on marketing campaign performance and suggest improvements
- Gather customer insights and share with development, customer success and marketing teams
- Participate and contribute to team meetings and communicate regularly with the Director of Business Development
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree, or MBA from an accredited institution (preferred)
- Previous sales experience, preferably in technology or media markets
Knowledge and Skills
- A hunter mentality with the drive and tenacity to develop new sales territories and vertical markets
- Exceptional written and verbal communications and presentation skills
- Experience writing business documents such as proposals, executive summaries and training presentations
- The ability to multi-task
- Self motivated and disciplined work ethic
- Interest in and / or experience working in a fast-paced, growing, young company
- A positive attitude and the willingness to learn, be coached and receive feedback
- A passion to do a great job and the ability to ask for help when needed
