BookBub seeks a talented individual to develop the design and user experience of BookBub products, services, and marketing materials. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing user interfaces for web, mobile, and email based on high-level concepts and wireframes 
  • Improving the look and feel of the current website and interactive applications 
  • Creating renderings of new user flows, experiences, and interaction models 
  • Collaborating with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to oversee the design of new products
  • Contributing ideas for new product features and improvements that enhance the user experience 
  • Working with the marketing department to create promotional display ads and landing pages 
  • Managing other design needs such as presentations, signage, etc 

Ideal candidates for the position will have:

  • Years of user experience design work, preferably at one or more startups 
  • A professional portfolio of websites and applications that wow 
  • Dexterity with professional design software like Adobe Creative Suite or similar 
  • Knowledge of the capabilities of HTML, CSS and JavaScript 
  • Experience balancing aesthetic goals with implementation limitations 
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-functional team and incorporate feedback from others into the artistic visions
  • Capable of working efficiently, self-managing project timelines, and hitting deadlines 
  • Excitement for a fast-paced, rapidly changing start-up environment where work can occasionally get chaotic and be required at off hours 
  • Interest in reading and books, and any experience in the industry a plus
