Overview
Venture for America is looking for an experienced professional to support our CEO and Founder Andrew Yang in all things. From scheduling and emailing to supporting fundraising and event planning efforts to helping Andrew prioritize and handle the tasks that most require him, there’s a lot to get done. For the right person this is a very impactful opportunity.
You:
- Are intuitive and possess a high processing speed
- Only need to ask how to do something once (maybe twice)
- Are extremely organized and feel there is no task too small
- Are a natural writer and speaker
- Can laugh at yourself from time to time and have thick skin
- Give everything 10% more than it requires
- Work easily with diverse groups of people
- Have a B.A./B.S. and significant experience in a professional environment
What you’ll do:
- Manage Andrew’s calendar and activities, including contacts, calls, meetings, speaking engagements, and anything else that comes up
- Handle travel planning and logistics for everything from nationwide recruitment tours to press to VFA summer Training Camp
- Support fundraising efforts by coordinating meetings and follow ups, and researching prospective donors
- Get to know and build relationships with VFA supporters
- Serve as a filter, helping handle some of the communications and tasks that can take things off Andrew’s plate
- Serve as a liaison between Andrew and the various departments at VFA, effectively balancing the needs of multiple groups of stakeholders
- Travel occasionally to VFA cities and accompany Andrew to meetings
- Contribute/pitch in to all aspects of VFA as needed, from selection to training to office logistics
- Serve as an aide to the CEO and founder of a growth organization
The good stuff:
- High performers at VFA are given substantial opportunity to grow and develop
- You’ll earn a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, plus health, dental, and vision benefits
- VFA is a dynamic startup environment with varied responsibilities and a different challenge each day (we mean it – always plenty of interesting problems to work on!)
- You’ll work alongside a team of crazy motivated, high-caliber people
- You’ll suddenly have less trouble getting out of bed and going to work in the morning
